“I’m painting something, but I’m not holding the paint brush. You are.” Jad Abumrad said when talking about how someone else’s voice relates to your own imagination. I had never thought about it before, but it is true that when listening to the radio I can picture in my mind what they are describing. He also describes how the vibrations and tones of the human voice all play into storytelling. He also tracks the audio storytelling back to ancient times, where people would gather and hear stories through voice. A time when there was nothing visual to a story, only what your imagination would create. It was interesting to think about hearing a voice/audio and the connection it makes in our minds.
